A lot happened in 2001, but one anniversary we want to celebrate is the blockade at Stroud.
Hard to believe it was 20 years ago.
The wonderful Forest Activist Network teamed up with the North East Forest Alliance to protect an important area of oldgrowth forest.
And we won!
It was one of several blockades where State Forests of NSW (as it was known then) had to acknowledge that they were trying to log areas that were supposedly protected as informal reserves.
It led to a process of getting statutory protection for informal reserves on State Forest.
It was a powerful action, and in so many ways it was also funny and joyous, with moments of tension and drama of course.
So bring your stories to our online storytelling... or if you weren't there but would have liked to have been, come along as well.
The 30 year storytelling we had for Chaelundi was great. This one will be lots of fun too!
